You get a running start and hit the door with force! Yes, that’s the way to go! It flies off the hinge and into the street. You dash off and into the streets! You eventually find a homeless community where you blend in to hide from anyone the organization you left behind might send after you.
As you wander the outside world you come across cafes that offer free access to the internet, as you discover the humans call it. You find you have little patience for much information outside those pertaining to military and fighting arts. One topic does catch your eye though. It’s a new fully immersive game, the first to accomplish full sensory immersion actually. It takes place in a world called Cartonia, a fantasy universe in which two species are fighting to the death.
As you are looking into it you make a startling realization. The headset that allows someone to immerse into the alternate universe consists mostly of a thin band that fits snugly onto the back of the neck. It looks like white granite and has swirls of color pulsing in its depths! This looks suspiciously like the rock you saw inside your panel!
