Cartonia

Game play for Cartonia is different from many other games in that while the classic example of other “races” somewhat exists (IE dwarves, elves, etc) they are simply a part of the human race and more a product of training then breeding.

NPC’s (or non player characters) are also different in that they are created inside an entirely ‘organic’ process. They have lives and thought processes that do not revolve all around those of the player characters. They also respawn and gain levels and traits towards their given profession even if that profession is outside that of the big 3 combat classes. Given, combat is the best way to gain exp, so your common villager will be nowhere as buff as a lifetime warrior. There are also no repeating quests. For instance if there is a raccoon in Nany’s attic you will get only the one chance to help her exterminate it. There are however repeating quests. Meaning that in the future another raccoon might wonder up there and need exterminating as well. In practical terms this means that if you visit a village, reveal the Mayer to be a hidden dark arts sourcerer, and help the villagers get rid of him, no one else can come and accomplish the task. It is done and does not reset for the next visitor.
