Lost in a Good Book- A Child's Tale
"I'm here," Rebecca said as she grabbed her backpack from the chair it had stayed in all day. She had been gone for hours, her stomach grumbled at her frustrated at having been so long ignored. She looked guiltily at her brothers, sure one or both was going to turn and snap at her. As an added measure of reassurance to both herself and the pair before her she said "I didn't go anywhere at all."
Edward rolled his eyes, "Of course you didn't go anywhere, we've all been stuck here all day long."
Rebecca smiled a secret smile, as relief poured through her. She was not busted- yet. She looked hopefully at Marcus. He was studying a girl across the room. Definitely not busted. She felt happier than she had in ages. Rebecca had found a secret world and it was hers alone.
"Mom should be here, let's go." Marcus said leading the way out of the building, his eyes still trailing over the girl with the cart of books.
