From Darkness It Comes

Walking Sorority Row

Darrin knew, from little things here and there, that Lisa was thinking about pledging a sorority. Because of this he figured she might be found around where all the sorority houses were, or a least someone around there would have seen her recently and have an idea where he could find her. All he knows is he has to find her.

Walking down the hill to Sorority Row Darrin was amazed at how nice it was. The street seemed wider than the rest of the ones in the area and there were large trees lining it on either side. The houses all seem freshly painted and have large golden or red Greek letters high on their faces. Darrin realized at this moment he had no idea which one she was planning on trying to pledge.

Stopping the first person he sees, a buxom young blond girl, he asks, "Sorry to bother you, but have you seen a lovely redhead, about this tall, called Lisa?"

She looks oddly at him. "Lisa who? What's her last name?"

Darrin stares at her with a look of dawning realization. I think I love her and I don't even know her full name. His eyes blink several times in shock before he is able to speak again.

She doesn't wait for him to process it all. "Never mind. I obviously don't know her. Are you sure you do?"
Without waiting for a reply she walks away.

Darrin kicks himself for his lack of information about her. This is going to be harder than I thought. How am I going to be able to ask about her without knowing her full name? I have to figure out a way.

Determined not to give up he walks up to the next person he sees, an older female student wearing a Delta Kappa Pie shirt. "Excuse me. Have seen Lisa? She was supposed to be around here but I can't find her."

"Lisa Denton?" She smiles kindly. "The head of our theatre group?"

"No." Darrin shakes his head, hoping this works. "She'd be a new pledge. A redhead about this tall. Hair down to here."

She woman thinks for a moment. "I don't remember seeing her. Are you sure she was pledging Delta Kappa Pie?"

"Oh, sorry. I thought that read something else. I suck at the whole Greek letters thing. Thanks for you help anyway."

"No problem." She walks on but now Darrin knows this could actually work. He just has to find the right person.

After about an hour of asking around he finally get a reply that sounds right. A brunet girl with braids seemed to remember her asking around earlier in the day. She also seemed to know more about her then just that. She knew where she might be going.

"Yeah, I remember her. Lisa... umm... Lisa Redford, I think. She was here talking to some of the girls earlier today. When she left she mentioned something about going downtown, but was asking about where she could get some good Tai food."

Darrin smiles at her. "Thank you so much. I'll go look down there."

She nods and returns his smile. "You could try Po-Pi Pot. That's where they sent her, but that was hours ago so I doubt she's still down there."

"Thanks anyway." Darrin leaves her behind and heads out of Sorority Row, knowing she isn't around here any more. He still isn't sure where she is, but at least he is one place down. His list hasn't gotten shorter though, since he also added one more to it. He just has to figure out where to look next.
