You wonder if this elf is talking about the cave where you had to fight not just dark elves but a demon. So you bring up the subject.
"Yes! We did find the remains of dark elves in that cave! We were getting attacked during the night by our evil brethren and one of our scouts eventually tracked the source down to a cave. But by the time we sent a warband to deal with the problem, all we encountered were mutilated corpsesÂ…that was you?!"
You give a simple nod and reply that it was. The elf can tell you're being completely truthful, but as a follower of the One True God could you be anything else?
"Â…well perhaps you ARE strong enough to face the demon within those ruins! I think we owe you a thank you though for what you did. So I would ask you to wait for me to gather some of my kin to help you. While you are obviously powerful and perhaps even have the favor of your deity, would you not agree that it would be easier to battle this demon with help?"
