Faridell
The next morning you wake late and you carry on walking down the path. The weather has improved now. The sun is directly under you as you reach a lovely little stream running through the path. You stroke your hand in the water and sip a little. It tastes fairly clean. You fill up your leather tankard up and start to carry on. But as you go you notice that the tall grass ends here as well, and you can see the stream coming from a large river running from the south.
Now you know where you are. You turn round and see the old dusty lookout point. You run up it and look ahead to the south. The great sea of Blandilin is beheld before you. The blue sea reflecting the dotted sunlight is a magnificent sight. The sea of Blandilin is concealed in a semi-circular mountain enclosure off the coast. Meristead situates at the bottom of the grey mountains here. Unfortunately you are on the other side of the coast. As the city is so near the sea a popular meal is fish. And many fishing boats float here and there. You sit down and take in the lovely view.
Then another memory comes back to you. You turn to the poem you engraved on the old stonewall behind you years ago.
~Meristead, Meristead the great land of dreams.
~What keeps me drawn to the land where the sun beams?
~Down on the mountain wall, lies a city with towers tall.
~Meristead, here I rest from night till day.
~And I will stay forever, for this is what I say.
~Meristead, for where the sky is always blue.
~And where adventure is always new.
You feel a great fresh feeling and quickly make haste to Meristead.
"Hello there." says a rather sly croaky voice. You turn around to an old man with a crazed expression on his face. His white freaked hair wisps in a gush of wind. He rests upon an old stick, which looks older than him.
"I see that you are enjoying your view of the city there," he says revealing a pair of tired old yellow teeth. His short pointy beard moves in time with his speech. It looks more like foam than hair though.
"How would you like it if I guided you there. 10 silver coins should do it?" His eyes only blink while he speeks. But as the left one stayed mobile the other flys about the place like an angered fly.
"Thank you all the same but I already know how to get to the city," you jest.
"Ah you know the normal way. But I can take you the scenic route and it's much faster." He takes off his beanie red and black striped hat, and holds it out to you waiting for you to drop some money in. Ten silver coins isn't much for you as Zentrum was very rich, and you have do have all his money with you. The old guide obviously doesn't make much money and you do pity him.
