The demon scam
You see how helplessly outnumbered you are and the pain in your body won't allow you to fight properly anyway. There is really nothing to lose by calling for help in this situation, is there..?
As the hyenas creep closer, you yell as loudly as you can muster. "Someone, plese help!!!" The demons seem slightly taken back by your loud voice, but they are not about to run away from something like that, and they are soon approaching you again.
Then, when you think you are doomed, there is a cat-like hiss from behind one of the rocks, and something leaps at the nearest of the hyenas, knocking it over.
