The Teatime Of Infinity

Will sighed as he threw his backpack in the corner of his bedroom. Another crappy day, he thought, as he flung himself on top of his bed. This was a daily routine, as one could tell from the creaking of the springs. One day the frame would finally break, smashing several paper maché projects from his childhood, as well as ruining his comic book collection. Until then, the bed would hold up as best as it could.

Without looking, Will reached his hand upward towards his headboard. It was styled to have display shelves all along its base. It had been bought by his mother in the hopes that it would add organization to Will's room, but that, of course, had never happened. It quickly became a stashing place, like his armoire, his closet, and...well, just about anything with available surface space. You know how it is.

But I digress. Will's hand felt around inside of the headboard, grabbed something, and brought it down to eye level. A half-eaten sandwich. Nope. He put it back, and began to search again. An empty pickle jar full of pennies. Why did he even keep that? Will put the jar back, and kept searching. A boxed set of The Little House on the Prairie. Pssh, worthless. He threw the books towards the carpet, which rebounded off of a pile of dirty clothes before resting against a guitar case. A Malibu Roller-blading Barbie. Huh. Clearly ransom was a foreign concept to his sister. What was the fun if she wouldn't freak out? He put it back, and began feeling around again.

But suddenly, there was nothing there. No dolls, no jars, no food, nothing. Confused, he sat up and looked inside. The massive amounts of tiny paper trash and loose coins had disappeared along with everything else.

The only thing within the headboard's shelf was a crumpet. Little did Will know that this was, in fact, a crumpet from the lost tea set of Infinity. Not only was it likely that the crumpet might hold a few clues to the location of the tea set, which would give him ultimate power, it also might have a few residual powers of its own.
