Checking At The Stadium

The librarian's idea seemed as logical as any other he's had, so he heads off towards the Stadium on the other side of campus. From a long ways off he sees the lightly rounded stands towering above everything else around them, save for the physics lab building next to it. The overhang above the bleachers making the whole thing look like a giant letter Z from this angle.

Darrin chuckles to himself. This search is brought to you by the letter Z.

Once near the stadium he finally sees the large hill she was talking about. It isn't that steep, but overlooks the field as if it was a far more casual set of bleachers. At the top o the hill is a small building and a large wall, which looks like the edge of school property.

Just as was suspected, the hill is covered with a mass of students out for the afternoon in the sun. Many of them are stripped down to their bathing suits and catching rays, while others are just relaxing or reading or joking around with friends. Near the bottom of the hill, where it starts to flatten out there are even a few games of Frisbee and Hackey-sack going on.

If Lisa is in this mess she is not going to be easy to find. There are too many bodies and too many distractions as they move around. Nevertheless he starts to walk through the crowd, making as much of a logical search pattern as he can manage. So many of the best looking girls seem be out in the smallest bikinis he has ever seen, which makes his search even harder to concentrate on.

Several people ask if he wants to join in their poker games or toss the disk around a bit, but he stays true to his search. Any time somebody seems willing to casually chat he asks them if they have seen Lisa, but none of them seem to know who she is or at least haven't seen someone of her description. After a lot of walking, looking, and talking he realizes that all this time was a fruitless act. Even more time wasted than at the library.

Growing ever more despondent he slowly makes his way out of the grass and back around the stadium towards campus. Trying to pump himself up he tells himself that this just cuts down the number of places she could be. Now he just has to choose a place to go look and hope he has better luck there.
