Much of Nothing

"Come on, Dan," You attempt to reason with him, "It isn't too far."

"Ten steps is too far, man." He says, but he follows you as you walk on to join up with the girl who waits on the trail for the two of you.

When you reach her, she is smiling. "It's about time," she says. Then she turns around and begins walking again. Once more, you find yourself captivated by her beauty as she turns around in slow motion like a shampoo commercial. Your eyes go down to her hind quarters and you find yourself almost reaching out to grab at a cheek when you check yourself and hold back. Dan smacks you on the back of the head, "Start walking, you fucking pervert."

You start walking, your eyes never moving from the perfect form of her body, your ears dimly noting the heavy footfalls of Dan behind you. It takes a few hundred steps before you are able to hear the waterfall in the distance and several hundred more before you can see it.

At long last you find yourself standing on the side of the path and leaning against a rail as you, Dan, and the girl who Dudley brought stare out at what passes for a waterfall in this park; a narrow trickle of water dropping maybe ten to twelve feet into a shallow pool of water at the bottom.

There is much silence shared between the three of you as you look on at the local waterfall. At last the silence is broken as Dan speaks. "This is what we came all this way for?"

"No," the girl replies, pulling a joint out of her shirt pocket. "This is what we came all this way for."

Without another word she lights it up and passes it around. It is a much higher quality bud than what Mikey brought to everyone at the park in the woods. It is as you toke on the joint for the third time that you realize you don't know the name of the girl who drove you on this adventure. "What is your name, anyway?" You ask of her.

"I'm Terri," She says.

You tell her your name as well. She smiles the smile of angels, and your heart flutters a little. "Are you going to pass that thing over?" She asks of you.

Embarrassed a little, you hand her the joint. She thanks you and puts it to her mouth, inhaling the substance with practiced ease.

When it is done, she looks at you and Dan and proposes a question. "Do you want to see what else is on this trail or go back?"

"I don't care either way," Dan replies, surprising you considering his previous complaints.

Their eyes meet yours. It is up to you again.
