Feeling overcome with frustrated desperation, Craig started to jump at the inner walls of the cup. He was able to jump reasonably high for his size, but no where near high enough to escape.
A loud ringing noise suddenly came from beyond Craig's plastic prison as he watched his 'little' brother pull out his cell phone from his pocket.
Caleb began to chat with one of his friends over the phone as he continued to stare down at the jumpy cricket.
"Yeah, sure! Come over. Tell mike he can come too! I'll meet you guys outside." Caleb eagerly welcomed his two friends over before ending the call. Having quickly lost interest with the bug, the ten year old placed the plastic cup back on the desk and began to stand up.
Craig watched as his brother walked out of the room, leaving him stranded inside the 'giant' plastic prison.
------
Minutes passed by as Craig re-assessed his situation. Surely there was still something he could do to fix this. Despite how hopeless it seemed, high schooler truly believed there had to be something he hadn't thought of.
"If only there was a way I could communicate with him without just seeming like a mindless bug..." He thought to himself.
"It would be great if I could just text him or.....Oh! Wait a minute!" An idea formed as Craig turned around to face the direction of his keyboard. If he could to keep his brother's attention long enough, perhaps he could actually communicate with the keys!
It wasn't the greatest plan, but it was the best he could think of. First he just needed to figure out how to get out of this damn cup...
Craig's planning was cut short as his brother and two of his middle school friends suddenly walked in.
"Dude, I'm telling you, there's a way you can craft a rainbow sword! There's a guy online who did it, I'll show you!" Caleb's short blonde haired friend swore, attempting to convince the others of an obscure minecraft secret.
"Yeahhh yeaahhh. Weren't you going on about a rainbow pokeball in X Y a few months ago?" The other dark haired friend pointed out skeptically.
"Guys, forget about it. I want to show you this new sheep trick I learned about!" Caleb took a seat back in the chair as his two friends stood along side him.
"Hey, Isn't this your brother's room?" The blonde haired friend asked as he looked around at Craig's stuff.
"Yeah. He's supposed to be around, but I haven't seen him for some reason..." Caleb muttered absentmindedly as he clicked through the minecraft log in.
"What's with the bug?" The dark haired middle schooler asked, turning the other two boy's attention to the plastic cup.
