The Great Conflict
You quickly don your gas mask and as both soldiers and clerics pour into opposite sides of the room you release the deadly nerve agent. The peasants are too stupid to understand your attack and simply charge straight through the cloud of gas towards you. Before they can reach you they inhale the gas and immediately fall to the floor and begin shaking violently and crying out in pain as the gas shuts down all of their organ systems. The more educated clerics, aware of Logical tactics, try to cover their mouths with their robes in a vain attempt to keep the gas out of their system. None are able to cast spells before the gas takes effect and they topple down the staircase like dominoes landing in a heap of dead flesh on the floor. The door was shut to the second level keeping the gas out but it managed to permeate through the primary level and reach the source of the peasant guards. You doubt you will have to face any more of them. Unfortunately, none of the clerics in the room survived the attack, but you are still alive and with your opposition diminished you head up stairs to secure some prisoners.
As you climb the staircase the alarm still sounds and the walls still flash red. It seems this enchantment will continue for the remainder of your "visit." When you reach the top of the staircase you quickly open the door and then move through and shut it to prevent to much of the gas from leaking in and killing your would be prisoners. You are in a hallway with many personal living rooms branching off. You immediately notice a cleric who is still living who must have been at the top of the staircase when the gas was released and was able to move into the next room and shut the door before he fully succumbed to its effects. Still, he managed to get enough of the gas to partially paralyze him, and he writhes on the floor helpless. You take out your stun gun, which is hardly needed at this point and fully paralyze him.
Mark down that you have taken 1 prisoner.
The remainder of the hallway is barren and all the doors are just, most likely in an attempt to keep the gas out. You turn the first door in the hallway. You have 3 choices for how you may enter it. You can kick in the door and open fire with your PEAR before anyone inside has a chance to react, or you may kick in the door with your pistol in hand ready to stun anyone inside. Your third and final option is to open the door and then quickly move to the side and peak around the corner to see what you are dealing with. What will it be?
