Brothers
You move out into an inexpensive apartment on the bad side of town and continue working at the phone center.
The apartment you live in is small and unkept. The windows are ancient and do little to prevent the outside cold. The ceiling in the bathroom has a long crack running down the center of it. You have three rooms: a bathroom, a kitchen, and a bedroom with an old and beat up fold out couch.
The rent is pretty cheap though; only 250 a month.
The neighborhood can be scary at times. Yesterday morning you heard gunfire a from street over. You read in the paper that s little kid died from the shooting. He was just sitting at the table eating some breakfast cereal.
Your days and nights are lonely ones, and you find yourself in a self absorbed depression. You do your best not to let it show while you are at work, and are generally successful with this, but occasionally the pain filled rageful beast makes its presence known.
A few years pass and you start earning some decent money off of your yearly raises, almost two dollars more an hour. On your 5th year review, your boss sits you down in his office for your evaluation. He tells you that they want to promote you.
Gladly, you take the offer. Your pay increases by a dollar and half. You are now a trainer.
One day at work you meet a young lady who starts working with you. She awakens feelings in you that you haven't felt in a long time. She seems to take a liking to you as well and the two of you get on fine.
You think about asking her out. You're just not sure if you're ready for that yet.
