Just an Ordinary Day in the Life of an Ordinary Girl

As you speed away at fifty miles an hour, the silhouette of the stranger you left behind shrinking to an indistinguishable dot in your indoor mirror, you heave a big sigh of relief. Your heart is pounding in your chest, as if racing to keep up with the car's velocity.

Why did you rush off like that? You're not entirely sure, really. Even though he seemed harmless enough - not to mention dead gorgeous - there was something in the back of your mind, screaming to roll up the window, start the engine, and hit that accelerator. So it's probably for the best you did leave, you keep telling yourself - who knows what could've happened if you'd actually let him into your car?

You glance back over your shoulder, for one last glimpse of the man you'll never meet again.

Later, when you reach your home, safe and sound with no further strange encounters, you head straight for your room and collapse onto bed. Hours long, you lie there, berating yourself for chickening out like that, even if the man creeped you out just a little.

You look sideways in the mirror, staring at your reflection, and think to yourself, You big wuss. So much for that adventure...
