The Island of Destiny

After Gretchen gives you a tour of both rooms, you decide to stay in the basement study. There's a nice oak desk and a full bookshelf to keep you occupied. Maybe reading a little will help you clear your mind. Gretchen brings you a cup of hot chocolate and then bids you good night. You are now left alone, in a strange basement, in the middle of a jungle, on an island you don't know how you got to.

Normal life feels so far away right now.

Sighing, you jump down on the bed and stretch out, pondering your situation. You check out the desk for any papers or clues but the drawers are all locked. Only one paper lies on the desk right now and it just reads:

Things to Do:
1. Water garden. X
2. Get more bread. X
3. Fix window. X
4. Talk to Zeke. X
5. Do laundry.

You're curious as to who Zeke is and make a mental note to ask your kind hostess about it tomorrow. You yawn deeply and for the first time realize how tired you really are. You think the best thing to do right now is to grab a book, read a little, and then pass out.

You go over to the bookshelf and examine what Gretchen has. After scanning over the selection, you come up with about five interesting choices.
