The Island of Destiny

You continue your walk through the jungle eastward. Hopefully you will come upon something of interest. You keep the two notes tucked away in your pocket for safe keeping. One of them tells of your "destiny" and the other is a plea for help. You wonder if you will find any more notes to add to your collection.

Two hours later, you are traversing across a wide mesa, covered in healthy green grass and shrubs. You stumble after walking into a small rock by mistake but you retain your balance. You then look behind where you were walking and to your closer examination, you discover that you didn't trip over a stone at all. No, in your hand now is nothing even close to being natural; it's a small, metal device. Three bright blue pads gleam on the side and as you push your finger onto one, you see that your fingerprint gets lighted green on the blue pad. You search for a label of any kind but there is none.

This device is nothing like you've ever seen before and out of curiosity you decide to tap all three blue pads at once. But a second after pressing down, you feel yourself immediately wishing that you hadn't done that. A strange purplish light emits from the device and as you watch with wide and amazed eyes, a spark of purple electricity shoots off of the device and strikes a nearby tree. The tree collapses and something then catches the corner of your eye that makes you run over to it.

Sure enough, your eyes weren't fooling you. Below this toppled tree there lies another scrap of paper for you. On it is scrawled:

Island Torleo has been enacted on Day 25, O1O. Approx. 50 thousand messages have been spread across the island. Subject xO4 is to arrive at 1:25pm.

This scrap frustrates you more than any of the others so far, mainly because it seems to be answering some of your questions while at the same time raising countless new ones. One thing is clear though: unlike the other two notes, this one isn't particularly directed towards you. Was it even meant for you to find? Curiously enough, something inside tells you that it was. After all, didn't the note say that over 50,000 notes had been scattered across the island? Surely most of them must have been misleading hoaxes and lies.

Then the stange electrical device you've been holding in your hand does a curious thing. It beeps. Then it beeps again. It continues to beep casually every few moments and as you stare the device in dumbfounded suspense, you hear another beep coming from somewhere around you. Scanning the area around you, you walk around to see if you can find the source of the second noise.

When you find the source, you can hardly believe it. This is mainly because it seems to be coming from an old, dirty boulder in the ground. But...that's impossible right? You at one point would have thought so, but of course that was before you woke up on this crazy island.

Now the boulder seems to shed itself of its rocky exterior, a process that looks bizarrely alien to you. It is as if the grayness that once was its color simply melted away from it. What you are left with is not a rock at all, but a bluish-purplish dome structure. It is still beeping perfectly in tune with your handheld device.

You see that on the metallic dome there are two buttons. One is black and one is white. Which one will you push?
