The Island of Destiny

You decide to follow this mysterious girl Marya into the jungle in search of water. Judging by how weak her voice sounded earlier, you can tell she definitely needs it. Also her walking somewhat scares you, for she stumbles periodically and constantly has to keep grabbing onto branches and stones to keep from falling. Her weakness just makes you all the more intrigued to find out why she was in that cage.

"So, how did you come to this island anyway?" she weezes out. She gives you a curious look with her deep, sullen eyes.

"Well, I don't really know if you'd even believe me if I told you," you try to explain. You know it must sound confusing to her, but you also have a slight feeling that she might think that you're lying if you tell her you just woke up on the island.

Should you try and come up with a more reasonable story? You feel that having this girl's trust will be important for getting some answers, so perhaps it would be a good idea. Then again, you do remember how one lie can sometimes lead to many more lies.
