From Darkness It Comes

Love At First Sight

As the light shifts and his eyes adjust Darrin finds himself looking up upon a vision unlike any he has ever seen. She is the most beautiful woman, with long red hair flowing over her shoulders and piercing green eyes looking back at him. He is frozen in time and finds himself unable to make a sound, which is just fine since she is the first to speak.

"Hi there. Sorry to bother you but I was hoping you could point me in the right direction." With that she flashes him a smile that just about melts his mind. Looking back he will recall this moment as the exact second he knew he loved this woman and he didn't even know her name yet.

"It's no bother." He replies with his own smile. "What are you looking for?"

She runs her fingers through her hair and flips it back over her shoulder before answering. "Well, I am moving into the Anderson building today, but I can't seem to find it. I was told it was over by this area, the Quad, but perhaps I am either blind or actually a blond because I can't find it."

Darrin quickly scoops his pack up and slips it over his left shoulder. "Actually, I live on the third floor so allow me to show you the way." With his empty hand he waves his hand out in the direction of the dorms as an invitation.

Ignoring his gesture she hooks her arm through his other and says "Well then, lead on."

Without missing a beat Darrin lowers his other arm down and starts to walk towards the Anderson building, which is just on the other side of the courtyard. The walk is short, taking only a couple minutes, but to him it seemed to be a lifetime with this vision touching his arm. But all too soon this lifetime ends and he finds himself standing at the door. Passing through to the entry hall he says "Here you are at regal Anderson Hall. So where are you staying?"

She unhooks her arm and starts to walk towards the elevator door. "I'm on four, perhaps I'll see you around." The door opens just then and with a smile she slips inside and out of sight. Darrin realizes he doesn't even know her name and starts to take a step forward, to try and catch the doors before they close. He is stopped short by her head poking around the corner and saying "By the way, I'm Lisa. Lisa Redford." He smiles and says "Call me Darrin." As the doors close and she is gone.

Smile on his face and song on his lips he wanders aimlessly back out into the sunlight to further enjoy the first day of his new life. Thoughts of nothing but Lisa, Lisa Redford fill his mind.
