Broken

You awake with a startle. Screaming. A woman. There is also a male voice. You sit up and notice it's already dark outside your window. You try to listen. It's coming from your hallway. Damned neighbours. You live in one of the shittiest buildings in your area. Full of drug addicts, ex-cons and whatnot other unpredictable bastards.

You hear some talking. The women seems to be saying something, but is abruptly interrupted by some more high pitched, desperate sounding screaming. Like hearing a dog being beaten, you think.
