Forest Dweller

You sit down, feeling safe. Ayla is in the same room as you. Elven guardians, the elite elves of the village, stand guard around the house and at the entrance to each room. You and Ayla exchange glances once in a while, but you dare not speak to each other yet- not with the guards around, at least. Ayla has been cured nicely since being attacked. You are amazed at her form- no scratches, no broken bones, she looks perfectly normal. Everything is fine- besides her pride. She looks as though she has been training harshly, no doubt so she won't be bested again. Healing takes a very short amount of time due to the magick of the woods, so it's very possible she was up and about a little after you started fighting Elk. Well, there's nothing you can do for her now. Although you're worried about her, she'll be fine until morning. You do have guards, after all. The best in the village. You DO hold a great portion of the wood's knowledge and power. Come to think of it, how was Ayla healed if the woods were weak? Perhaps there was enough energy left for only her. Considering how much the energy is needed in the village, it shows how much Ayla matters to them that they would use the rest on her. The only remaining power source is the barrier stone, but using that would leave the entire village open. It is not an option. Your eyelids are heavy. With another glance at Ayla's sleeping form, you let yourself fall into slumber.
