Forest Dweller

*Story unfinished. Will be completed at a later date. Don't bother adding up points unless you don't mind waiting. :) *

You feel the wind in the trees. The branches of a nearby willow whisper secrets to your trained ears, but you put them aside as you have heard them all too many times before. You live in a village hidden from the world, and have never ventured outside of it. You are not exactly human, but you are nonetheless.

You do not act like humans do, and the mysterious elves around you have taken you in as one of their own. It is said that you were found as a baby in the woods, abandoned by your dying parents. As always, the woods are unnaturally beautiful. As this place is hidden by a barrier, the air has an eerie but beautiful glow to it. Fireflies cover the sky, the source of the barrier.

You've always wondered what the outside world was like- but at the time you are content to live with the elves, as it has grown natural to be one of them. It is hard to believe that you are part of the human race, and you are ashamed when the elves bring news of war in the outside world. Why would humans do those things to one another- nay, how could any living thing?

As you think on these matters, a beautiful elf approaches you. Her name is Alya, and she is one of your best friends. You've always been entranced by her beauty, yet you never have tried to get too close to her. Elves live to be a ripe old age, and she most likely has been in this world far longer then you have. You're surprised how alike both of you are, yet in the sacred laws of the wood it states that humans and elves must never be allowed to fall in love, lest some ill omen befall the village. You'd brushed away any feelings of that you ever felt towards her ever since you learned of these laws.

"Hey, Adam. Have you gathered the sacred wood and water for the daily ritual yet?"
"Oh, I uh-"
"I can't do it alone, 'ya know." She smiles cutely. All laws of human nature would state that she was madly in love with you, but she is an elf. You dare not ask her, lest you upset the village. They were kind enough to take you in, the least you can do is show your gratitude by respecting their way of life.

"Alright, i'll get right on it."
"Thanks, Adam." She walks off, over a nearby tree trunk to the wooden house nearby. The houses have been grown naturally by the wood, as the elves have willed the wood to grow in a shape they could take residence in. You've never spoken to the wood, or rather you never learned how. Though elves can hear it from birth, you have trained every day for years and have only just learned how to listen. You've learned the forest is glad to take you in, even if you are a human which many thought to bring destruction at first. Alright, first things first. You need to finish your daily chores.
(In this story, you have not only the option of completing it successfully but building your relationship with Ayla. Some things you do will raise Aylas affection for you, while some will lower it. Keep track of her overall affetion score for you until the end, then select the choice that corresponds to that number. There are more choices to make her like you, but to get the perfect ending you need to do everything right. Feel free to do the story again, but please don't cheat and go back to select better choices as it ruins the point.)
