Time Traveller
Moving down the left hallway, you hear people talking from within some of the rooms. All the doors are closed. You move up close to one where a lot of talking and laughing is coming from.
"Go ahead," Joe whispers.
You reach out and push open the door with a creak. Inside, three women turn to look in surprise. At the sight of you and Joe aiming your colts at them, the expressions turn to terror.
One of the women opens her mouth, apparently to scream, but Joe barges past you and puts the barrel of his gun beneath her chin.
"Scream an' it's your last one," He growls. She clamps her mouth closed. "Very good. Now, let's be relievin' you of those heavy purses of yours."
The women don't argue, quickly handing over small purses that are, on closer inspection, filled with dollars. You take the money and stuff it inside your lab coat. Joe grins a toothy grin while putting some in his pockets.
"We'll split it fair, like, when we get back." He looks to the women again, who are shaking and pale. "And the jewellery, ladies, please."
The women hand you and Joe expensive rings and necklaces, but as you are hiding them away, the sound of voices drifts down the hallway outside.
"Louise, I just got you some..." A man steps into the room and trails off. Joe quickly swings the colt onto him.
"Say anything and you die," He warns, "Hand over what you have."
The man, scowling, digs into his pockets and gives over his money.
"Right," Joe looks to you, "It was nice meeting these folks, but time to go."
You follow Joe out of the room and back the way you came, moving quickly. The women haven't raised the alarm yet; perhaps they are afraid that you will return if they do.
As you charge along a hallway, a man steps out of a nearby room. You barrel into him, knocking him over with an outraged cry. You and Joe rush outside to your horses, clambering on them as fast as you can. The man you knocked over is now shouting and people are running to investigate. Joe shouts to the other outlaws to get out of here, and then kicks his horse into a gallop.
"Go ahead," Joe whispers.
