You make an announcement to all of them that you will stay here until the Karnites stop terrorizing them and all that you ask for is shelter in the meantime. One family is willing to accommodate you.
You spend the night discussing to the family about the teachings of the One True God to the family, they seem willing to learn more. They particularly like the idea of mercy and patience. Traits sorely missing in the teachings of Karn, and their Priests gleefully ignore them. All they do is take whatever they think they can. You end the night saying a prayer for them and going to bed.
The next day you wait for the Karnites to come by again, and sure enough they do in force. Four of them have shown up, they see you and know immediately what's happened. They can't believe it, but they know it. One of them addresses you.
"So! It seems not all of the followers of the One Weak God are eunuchs! You must be a relatively good warrior; if you managed to slay two of Karn's faithfulÂ…I'm assuming that's what you did, correct?"
"Yes, and I will do the same to you, if you don't leave these people alone. Karn has no more sway here!"
"Oh so now they've all immediately accepted your god? I find that hard to believe."
"No, but most of them, if not all of them have discarded yours. It is my hope that all these people shall see the wisdom in turning to the glory of the One True God, but if not then they shall be judged by HIM not me. My role is only to guide them on the path, and to protect them from your hateful, extortion cult!"
That last statement offended them enough for them to draw their weapons; of course it was inevitable that combat was going to occur anyway.
