Hall of Infinite Doors

You turn left and walk along the chasm. Much time passes, and you don't see anything. Soon you begin to believe you walked in the wrong direction, but just when you are about to turn around, you hear voices coming your way. You put a hand to your ear and listen.

"I'ma starving!" One voice growls.

"Then go out and catch yourself a Rundmaw, if you feel up to it." Another rumbles. The voices are deep and remind you of the distant roll of thunder.

"How about a little bit of that meat...?"

"Hands off!" The second voice roars, "I've rationed it. We barely have enough for the journey. If you want more food, hunt for it."

You soon realize the large footfalls are getting louder and louder, closer and closer. You quickly scurry over to a small mound of bones and crouch down behind it. Peeking through the cracks in the mound, you see two gigantic men come into view. Both of them, you see, must be at least thirteen feet tall, with arms and legs the size of tree trunks and torsos as broad as boulders. Their heads are massive and square, with large jaws and protruding forheads. The whites of their eyes are yellowish and rimmed with red, like the rotting eyeballs of a corpse.

"Rundmaws are too slippery and too fast. Besides, they taste like shit."

"How would you know?" the larger giant infront of the other turns his head to look over his shoulder, "You never caught one. Probably were never quick enough to see one."

"Blaugh.." the giant behind hawks and spits a great yellow glob of mucus. "I've seen Nidhogg himself!"

"Wait." the larger giant puts his hand out to stop his companion. "I smell something good."

The smaller one sniffs the air and exclaims, "Human!"

To your great dismay, the two giants get a ravenous look in their eyes and rush into the bones, throwing aside skulls and hips in their furious attempt to find you.
