Rentyre

You pull the activation lever, the chamber flashes, and the machine shuts off automatically. The monitor only connects two of the subjects, so you don't have anything to watch. It's probably connecting your father with the robot body. If the plan had went accordingly, Reggie wouldn't have needed the monitor.

You can't help but laugh. By now, the two of them have probably figured out what happened. Your father may have your body like he wanted, but Reggie wasn't supposed to be stuck in the robot body. It's not ideal, but it feels like a victory to you.

You almost feel sorry for Reggie. It wasn't his idea to help your father steal your body. Now he's stuck in a fake body while you've stolen his. But it's a risk somebody in his line of work faces daily. Besides, Rentyra Co. will pay him millions in settlement fees.

Taking a duffel bag out of the closet, you stuff it with a bunch of food from the kitchen, as well as a few changes of clothes. If Reggie had worked anywhere else, you could've stolen his identity outright. How could anyone prove that it's not really Reggie in this body? But he worked for Rentyra Co. You can't pretend to be Reggie if they're paying him retribution money.

The good news is that the police cannot arrest you; Grand Theft Flesh is not a punishable crime. And, since you're not doing anything wrong, they can't forcefully remove you from Reggie's body. True, you'll have to get a job and a new apartment. But you're not a robot. You are a human being.

Right now, that makes all the difference in the world.
