Your field of vision is suddenly filled with inflatable replicas of your ship, numerous missiles, and lots of explosions.
The escorts, aside from the ones that are blowing up or trying to evade missiles, start firing wildly at the decoys, hoping to hit you.
"Peter, do we have anything left?"
"No sir, just the plasma cannons. We'll need to get closer before we can use them on the carriers."
You speed towards the carriers as fast as you can. The remaining escorts, seeing you moving under your own power, manage to deduce that you're not a decoy.
They let loose with everything they have. You try to out maneuver them, but even with all your training and experience this is too much for you. You're soon destroyed. The remaining troop carriers and escorts are now free to continue on to the station.
