Ignoring your misgivings, you slowly continue walking down the corridor, your heart still pounding violently from the encounter with the ghost.
But, gradually, you begin to relax. Maybe you just imagined it all? That does seem to be the most likely explanation. It's much better than that you might be losing your mind, or that it was real, in any case.
But, try as you might, you can't shake the image of the ghost from your mind.
Presently, you come to a part of the corridor that separates into two - one path continues straight on, while the other turns left.
