The demon scam
Your mind rushes as you know you have to come up with something believable or you'll more than likely die. Too bad you never studied demon culture.
Anyway, you can't stand here thinking, so you grin and throw out the first lie that pops into your head.
"Well actually, we're in quite a bit of a mess as we have a clan of dog demons after us, and we need a place to lay low for a while."
Well that sucked, but you really needed something fast, and she might catch onto the dog-demon part... If you remember correctly, cats and dogs are mortal enemies in the demon world as well, and with a common enemy, she might concider helping you.
