The demon scam
You suddenly have a change of mind, thinking it might be worth it to let her know your name after all. "Wait!" you call after her, and she turns back to you, her tail swishing slowly.
"I'm sorry, it's Lint," you hurry to say. "And this here is Merle."
Naria studies the two of you for a moment and then she asks, "So... what was it that you were about to ask?"
"Umm, well..." you say, "Would you happen to know of a way to get out of this realm?" you ask, studying the demon closely.
The female demon stares at you as if you just asked a really stupid question and you probably did. With a suspicious frown, she asks, "A portal to the mortal world, you mean..?"
You nod. "Yeah."
She squints at you. "Why do you want to know?"
