The easiest way to get out of the Vigilante stronghold is to get on a horse and gallop the fuck out of there. You continue to run towards the stables as quickly as your feet will carry you.
You round a corner and nearly run into the three men whose shadows you had seen standing before the barn. They look surprised to see you and you shove through them into the stables.
"So that's what the gun shots were all about?" One of the men says behind you. "I figured someone was target shooting."
"Well it appears the target is mobile." Another says. You glance over your shoulder and see one of them take aim while you start to pull yourself up onto the horses back. One of the men beside him forces the other mans arm down.
"We can't kill him." The man says. "Jorge says we're keeping him alive for Paco to deal with."
You back your steed up out of the stable and face them. There's only one way out of this barn, and it's through them. You kick at the horse's flanks and charge at the trio of trouble.
Two of the men dodge to the side, but the third is either stupid or has a death wish. Your horse continues to press on towards the Vigilante before you, who doesn't seem able or willing to move from your path.
You reach the moment when you are certain that you have run the man down when you notice a hand grip onto the saddle horn. The man uses the momentum of the horse to swing himself up to land in the saddle behind you.
His arm wraps around your throat in a choke hold while the horse gallops on to potential freedom. If you can maneuver your head, you can tear into the flesh of his arm with your teeth. You may also be able to drive your head back into his face, assuming he's positioned properly behind you.
