Shadows Of The Lost
I began to slowly look behind me. Turning around in the couch, I started to pull my head over the back of it and seeing behind it. And, just at that moment, a dark figure rose and towered above my little couch. I fell backwards, my back to the floor. The figure began to climb over the couch as I tried to get to my feet. I kept falling, so I tried to push myself back while still on the ground. I was trerrified of this...thing that was about to eat me from the inside out. The figure inched closer and closer, but...to my surprise, it stepped into the only other light in the house: moonlight. I felt like an idiot. It was her...that little insane 16 year old from the Onizuka family that lived down the street.
"...are you okay, Mr. Yuki?" asked the girl. I can't seem to remember her name, but...I think it started with an 'A'...
"...w...w-w...h-how did you get in?!" I demanded.
"...uhh, you left your door unlocked, dude. I came here to see if you were okay, because you always lock your door." replied the girl.
Oh no...she was right. I know I locked the door when I came home. Something mus'nt be right here...
"Umm...Mr. Yuki, you are allright, aren't you?" asked the girl with a slight worry in her tone.
"...have you seen the news?" I asked, pointing to the T.V.
The young girl only looked at me funny, then turned her head towards the T.V. She tilted her head and looked back at me.
I picked myself up and started to lead her towards the living room. We both sat on the couch, and started to watch the news.
'...it is official, these creatures have been appearing all over the world, including our oceans. Billions of them have been said to have killed over hundreds of thousands of people...'
The news woman was replaced by a man, it would seem.
I looked at the clock; 12:26.
The girl simply looked in shock when the images of the the people being slaughtered were shown.
"...oh my god...! What's happening?!" she cried, with seemingly tears beginning to form.
I looked back at the T.V.
'...again, we advise that you stay inside and barricade your homes. These creatures seem to have difficulty moving objects, but they can slip through cracks. The president hasn't decided on what to do, but they are trying to figure out what these things are. Footage of people capturing these creatures has been seen, apparently anything that doesn't have any holes or slips can hold these things, anything will work as long as it doesn't have any cracks or of the sorts. Be very careful as these things can move at very high speeds and have been reported to soar through the air on occasion...'
The girl suddenly grabbed my hand. "What are we going to do, Mr. Yuki?!" cried the girl as she looked directly into my eyes. They were glistening... I could feel her hand trembling. I think mine was too.
What are we going to do...?
