With his attention diverted you decide to capitalize on this opportunity to make your escape. You run out the back door to your fenced in back yard. You hop the fence like someone who... hops... fences realy well.
You are now in your neighbors back yard. You run through it to the front of thier house. Their car is in the drive, so they're probably home. You could stop there and ask for thier help. If you run across the street you may be able to hide in the woods. No need to endanger your neighbors, right?
