Another Monday Morning

...Maybe that wasn't such a good idea. The person you carjacked immediately pulls out their cell phone and calls the police, saying that their car's just been stolen. Great. Now you've got the police after you for murder, torching a car that wasn't yours, and carjacking someone.
You reach an intersection in the road. North is harder ground to navigate, but the police will be slowed down. West is easy ground and you can get away fast, but so can the police. East leads to somewhere you haven't been before, possibly to somewhere it might be better not to go. Which way do you go?
