The Black Citadel

You continue walking and you see, at the end of the corridor, another large metal portcullis closing off the end. Past the portcullis you can see that the corridor continues ahead. You can't see any lever here, and you assume it must open from the other side. Now you have to turn around and go back to the t-junction with the large wooden door. Which way did you come through before?
