The Item

"I am here!" you cry out into the darkness. "Take me, but do not kill me!"

"Well, what is this?" an invisible being says. His voice is right ahead of you. "What?" he suddenly yells. "You have the Item?"

Nothing happens for a few seconds. Then a sharp pain on your head. Then nothing.

You are awake, eyes closed, lying on a mat. You are not in a jail cell and no one is around, including the Item. What do you do?
