That river in Egypt
Rennala opened the front door to her house and went out. She looked around her porch but saw nothing out of the ordinary. She turned and went to look down the street. By the gate to her yard, she saw him. Lying still on the ground, with 2 large X's across his eyes and his tongue sticking out comically.
"Oh shit"
He must have fallen over last night while trying to walk back home. Or maybe that angry old guy finally tracked him down and got his rebar back. Who knew, but it didn't matter. There was a corpse lying in her front yard, not a particularly good look for her. She thought about the nights events to calculate her guilt. She did make him drink quite a lot, then did bring him to her house before letting him go. That could be considered neglect in court if she was unlucky.
