Reservoir
I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing.
"Hello?" I say groggily
"Hey." A voice comes from the other line.
It's Jesse. I feel my face warm up.
I mumble "Hello."
He replies in the same mumble "You get home safely?"
"No, I ended up staying the night in Rex's motel room." I look over to Rex, who was still sleeping.
"Rex's huh?" I can hear him let out a small chuckle.
I feel my face flush. "Got any plans?" I ask
"That's why I called you. I was called into work. You'll have to find something for you guys to do yourself."
"Woah, I didn't expect that to happen." I tell him.
He pauses for a second "I know."
I hear him sigh from the other line. He hangs up. I'm going to have to tell Rex when he wakes up.
I get up and make coffee. I sit down and stare out the window. It's pretty nice out. It's a beautiful day. I wonder what I'm going to do. I can't sit around like this. Rex and I will talk about it when he wakes up. But what if we just stay here in this motel room watching bad TV? That would be fine enough for Rex as long as the show is entertaining. I wouldn't mind that at all.
I end up finishing drinking my coffee. I see a magazine on the table and flip through it. It seems very boring. I end up putting it down and going back to bed. I'm not sure what to do. I'm certainly not going to go back to my house. I'll have to figure this out. I hear a yawn next to me. Rex is awake.
"Good morning." He says.
"Morning." I reply.
"I have to tell you something."
"What is it?"
I shake my head. "Jesse has work. We'll have to figure something for us to do ourselves."
"Okay. Should we just stay here for the day?"
I nod. "Sure." I tell him as I head back to my bed.
I get back in the bed. He lays down next to me. He takes the remote and starts flipping through channels.
"You okay?" Rex asks beside me.
"Yeah." I tell him.
He puts his arm around me. For some reason, it makes me feel better. Nothing makes sense at the moment. I'm going to think about this later. For now, I'll just enjoy the comfort of Rex's arm. I start to doze off.

"How long was I out?" I ask
"A few hours. I couldn't wake you up. You were really tired." He says.
"I wonder how Priyan spent his day." I say.
He shrugs. I sit up and walk over to the TV.
"So what did you decide to do?" I ask.
He shrugs again. "Do you want to go back home?"
"You mean my house?" I ask.
"Yeah."
