Reservoir
Priyan and I go walking on the shore of the lake. We walk a little in silence. Priyan looks at the lake as we walk. He seems really fixated on the lake.
"My parents used to bring me here a lot when I was younger." He says "The fact that there's nothing to do in this town was part of the reason, but this lake does hold a lot for my family."
Priyan sits down "I used to think this lake was an ocean. Boy, did I have the imagination when I was younger."
He laughs a little "You know how to swim, right?"
"Yeah. I can swim." I say "I'm not great at it, but I can swim."
"Well let's say we go swimming in the lake tomorrow if it's okay with Jesse and Rex." Priyan suggests
"Yeah, let's do that." I say.
It's peaceful at the lake, it's nice. I decide to stay by the lake. We sit on a rock and watch the sun. It is a perfect day at the lake. I drift off and take a nap.
It goes dark again.
"Memories of your death all melt into liquid. I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure that it's just another experience."
I wake up to a light shining in my eyes.
"Hey." Priyan says
I sit up. Something is wrong. I feel so dizzy.
"I got a call from Jesse. He and Rex are having lunch at the diner." Priyan explains
I feel sick. We get up and walk to the diner. We get there and see Jesse and Rex sitting at the counter.
"You're finally here." Jesse says, "I already ordered our food. It'll be here in a few minutes."
We sit down at the table. I feel sick. I can't eat anything. I say, as I head to the bathroom. I feel sick to my stomach. I open the toilet lid and throw up in the bowl. I bend over and dry heave a bit. My mouth is dry and my palms are sweaty. I get up and sit on the toilet. I lean my head against the cool porcelain. I take a deep breath. I'm going to be fine. Just a little stomach bug. I feel dizzy but I will be fine. I look at myself in the mirror. My face is pale. I look sick.
I leave the restroom and join back with the others.
