Everything Went Dark

Jack wanted to see what was wrong with the mirror. It was broken. He couldn't see his own reflection. He could see his surroundings in the mirror, just not himself. Weird. It is an older mirror, though. It has an old-fashioned frame. Besides, there was a knife stabbed into the ground in front of it. Three words were scratched into the ground next to the knife: KILL THE TRAITOR. Jack assumed that's what the knife was for. He gingerly picked that up, but who was this traitor? How and why was he expected to know what was going on? He was walking into this with zero clue on what was going on. The door opened behind him. Jack figured that whoever was behind him was the traitor. He glanced into the mirror to see who it was. He still couldn't see himself, but he could see a shadowy, blurred figure.
