Savages of the Sacred Salvage

Nobody seems to pay you much mind as you and Bainto step over the old man's body and pitch in to help whatever distant kin the property goes to have less packing to do. You make off with a nice set of copper serving ware, a jug of wine, and a roll of dyed cloth, while Bainto somehow manages to acquire an entire herd of goats.

Through careful management of the new property and carefully not employing any servants from that particular household looking for work in the weeks to come, you and Bainto manage to become modestly wealthy over the next few years, and even manage to acquire a son-in-law by skillfully marrying a drunk hunter to one of the prettier she-goats in the herd. Later you suspect she's cheating on him, and regardless you never do have any grandchildren to hold, which is always a regret. But all things considered, you'd say you did pretty well.
