Erinyes Game

You weave your way between large boxes and containers until you find a place to sit, and you do so.

Apollo shoots you an incredulous look.

"Might as well get comfortable," you pat the spot next to you. "We don't know how long it'll take Aphrodite to find us."

With a sigh, he comes to join you. You're surprised by how calm you feel, with an enemy-turned-ally approaching you with his crossbow at his side. But somehow you can't bring yourself to care. Settling down next to you, Apollo puts the crossbow down on his other side.

"What about Hera, though?" He thinks aloud.

"Not sure. Aphrodite might be able to bring her here, but if not, the three of us can go look for her," you tell him.

Apollo lets out a loud, exaggerated sigh all of a sudden, confusing you into silence. "Gods above, how did everything go so wrong? I never wanted any of this. I never wanted Artemis to die."

You give him a hesitant pat on the shoulder in an attempt to console him. "I'm so sorry you lost your sister, Apollo. But at least this way, you'll be able to avenge her death, right?"

He nods, tense shoulders easing up slightly. "I hope so."

The two of you start to chat idly, waiting for Aphrodite to come join you. As you talk, you lower your hand back to your lap, and remember the weapons strapped to your belt. You glance at Apollo out of the corner of your eye, and then look back down.
