Time Traveller
You run like the wind, forgetting the outlaws. The cliff rumbles behind you, huge boulders crashing into the dust around you, nearly knocking you off your feet. Quickly, you find yourself at the river, and dive in, narrowly avoiding the falling rocks. You clamber onto the shore when the rumbling subsides, and look around. The outlaws are nowhere to be seen, but you spot an arm sticking out from one of the piles of boulders and look away, feeling sick.
The sheriff's head breaks the surface of the river nearby, and he climbs out onto shore.
"Well," he says, looking tired, "I guess we got 'em."
You sit for a moment, getting your breath, and then you and the sheriff begin the long trudge back into town.
