D-DAY

"You're awfully generous," you tease a bit, causing Mylan to smile and roll her eyes in response.

"I was really scared of coming here, not gonna lie. But everyone has been so kind to me in this class. I wanted to repay them, even if just a little," she replied, placing another box down. "So, have you talked to Gianeen recently? Who am I kidding, of course you have."

"Yeah," you chuckle. "I wonder when her transfer student program is gonna fly her over."

"It's a shame they got behind schedule. Getting their flight delayed for another month must suck," Mylan explained. "Gianeen was so excited to see you too." Her expression became slightly solemn at the mention of her friend back in America.

"We'll see each other eventually," you smile, being the optimist you are. "And you guys will be reunited soon enough." Your positivity brought back Mylan's smile as she set her last boxes on the desks in your row. One box remained in her bag. She walked over to your desk and gently set it down in front of you.

"Happy Valentine's Day, Jean-Luc. I made them myself."

You accept her gift graciously, thanking her for such a kind gesture. You carefully peel off the wrapping and open the box...

Its a tiny Schwarzwälderkirschtorte! She remembered your favorite cake awww

Before you could turn to thank her once more, she was already off engaging in conversation with some of her other friends across the room.
