As you open the back door, a shining light comes into your eyes. You take a few steps back blinded by the light. You feel defeated by the sun.
You take your shades, that you have worn way too often, and walk outdoors.
Something is wrong. Very wrong.
It is silent. Where are the annoying neighbors with the ATVs? Where is the popping of gunshots in the distant land. This is Texas, almost everyone has a gun...right?
You walk across the pebble stones scattered across your overgrown backyard. You stop in your tracks.
