Soon, you hear from outside: "I could've sworn I saw him duck into this alley! Maybe he went in that door down there!"
"Maybe he went in this sewer!"
"Fine; let's split up. Praise Lamaria!"

At this, you hear one rogue running off and the other one scuffling into the sewer. You breathe a sigh of relief that you didn't choose either of those ways! You wait a few extra moments just to be sure they're gone, and then emerge from the barrel back into the alleyway.

Drat. This was going to be the town that would come to be known as the birthplace of your work of genius, and now it's a hotbed of deadly intrigue! Well, you must leave Vitomir, that's for certain, but should you do anything before you go?
