Lost in a Good Book- A Child's Tale

Rebecca picked up a book from the shelf, the cover said it was a "Billy Sook." She had to read it twice, and when she finally got it, she couldn't help but giggle. Someone had switched the letters around. Rebecca flipped the book open, somewhere in the middle. She didn't think it would matter since it was just a book of poems after all.

"Yello, hou," a small turtle said very slowly.

Rebecca paused, momentarily perplexed. Sure, she understood in books animals talk. But that this creature would talk so strangely threw her. She tried speaking normally hoping it would adjust. "Hello, how are you?"- what came out was "Hello, aow hre ?ouy" She hadn't even known such a thing could be pronounced.

"Ahere wre fou yrom?" the turtle asked.

Rebecca shook her head and frowned, it had been fun for a few moments, she liked the art of this poetic world, but it got old fast. She pinched her stomach, hoping that would bring that pull feeling. It didn't, so she tried to get out Dorothy style by tapping together her red Keds. Away she went, more than ready for the next adventure.
