Lost in a Good Book- A Child's Tale

The two little girls in matching pink tutus got Becca's attention right off. They were so cute, and well they were wearing pink. Rebecca sat down with the book and flipped it open. The wording was simple she read through some of the first lines.

" I love my pink tutuÂ…"

Rebecca thought this would be a fluffy easy read- she'd heard her mom describe some of her favorite books that way. This one looked like a good one. Rebecca felt that little wiggle and squirm in her belly and then heard the loud :: POP :: and then she was in the story.

The girls wore pink- they danced in a cloud of pink tutus in their class. They did everything together. Rebecca liked watching them even when they stumbled and fell. It was fun, but she felt a bit left out. They danced to fun music, they danced fast and sometimes they danced slowly.

Rebecca tried to copy their movements raising her hands over her head, but when she was the one that fell it wasn't quite as fun since she didn't have a friend to pick her up. The two girls she had seen on the cover finished dancing and got their pink bags and wore their pink tutus out of the dance studio. They were holding hands. It was very cute.

Rebecca watched them walk out with their parents and she watched longingly as they were given strawberry ice cream. She wondered if she had been with her father if she would have been enjoying ice cream. Rebecca felt her sorrow seeping into her heart and then into her belly. She slowly faded out of the book feeling a bit lonely. And ready to find something else to do to distract her from that feeling.
