The neverending story

Your body is wracked with pain. You writhe on the floor in agony as your muscles and bones reshape, tearing your clothes.
Your skin is changing to a pale iridescent grey, and you can see your nose extending out beyond your eyes.
Through the pain, you dimly notice, that the small room is filling with water. At first you fear you may drown, till you realize, the water is stopping a foot from the low ceiling, and you can breathe out the back of your head.
Your arms have shrunk to fins. Your legs have joined as one into a strong tail, which extends as a continuing part of the musculature of your entire frame.
You are a dolphin.
Suddenly, the floor drops out beneath you, and you are falling into a much larger body of water.
You quickly resurface, to see the chrome ship flying out of sight into the big sky which stretches out over the ocean you are now in.
Despite the strangeness, and alienation, you know you must attempt to take control of your situation.
You feel warm salt water flowing over and around you. You suspect you may be in a current of some kind.
But, looking over the surface of the water you can see land to your left. And when you look in that direction, under the water you see the bottom of the ocean beginning to rise.
