Ducky Park
"I don't think I'd mind working at one of the food stands," You tell him.
"Great," He says. "Let me go see where we have some openings and I'll be right back. You just wait here."
He leaves you alone just inside the gate and you watch as he disappears into a building not far away.
You stand there idly, watching as Ducky Park patrons enter the park ready for a fun filled and exciting day at everyone's favorite local amusement park. You see the woman and her daughter who were standing near you in line and smile stupidly at the little girl when her eyes fall on yours with curiosity. She clings to her mothers hand and looks away. She says something to her mother and the woman looks briefly back at you, a cold gaze shooting from her eyes to meet you own. They disappear into the crowd soon after.
A short time later you spot Happy Duck entering through the gates and approaching you; his smiling duck bill a sharp contrast to the demeanor of the man within.
"So what're you doing now?" He asks.
"I'm standing here," You tell him.
"Must be nice having an uncle that runs the park," He tells you.
"It kind of is, actually," You reply. "I'm gonna work at one of the food areas."
"Great," he says, "Remind me not to eat today. See you around, dipshit." He waddles off into the masses of park goers, the delight of children and adult alike but the bane of your existence.
A little while later, your uncle Jim returns. "Alright," He says; "I checked it out. We have two food areas in need of help and a third option. You can cook pizza at the pizza stand, there's only two people assigned there and ideally we need three. There's a hotdog and french fry stand that's short-handed. And the third option is a lemonade stand. Lemonade stands are pretty much a one man gig and there is an unused stand over by the water park area."
You stare blankly back at him.
"So what's it going to be?" He asks.
"Great," He says. "Let me go see where we have some openings and I'll be right back. You just wait here."
