Brothers
You practically pick up Michael from the collar of his shirt and drag him the three blocks left to the house.
"You're not going to tell Mom & Dad about this are you?" Michael ask.
"I don't know what good it would do Michael, but just because Mom is, well you know Mom, and Dad has his problems with alcohol doesn't mean that you have to follow in those same problems."
You end the brotherly advise by giving a good shove to Michel in the front door. You look over and see your father sitting on the couch. A half empty beer can sits warm on the coffee table. Your mother is nowhere to be seen. As of coarse no way makes a big deal that your home from just graduating the toughest military training there is. To you this comes as no surprise.

The week passes and soon your bags are packed as you once more report back to your next duty station in North Carolina. When you arrive in late October the weather is brisk. You report to the command center and are assigned to the second floor barracks of Bravo Platoon. As you unpack your gear and organize your wall locker your room door opens up. In walks a familiar face, in walks Jason from boot camp dressed in green camouflage fatigues.
"Jason! How are you doing buddy it's good to see you!" You welcome your friend.
"So do you like our new room?" as Jason as he takes a seat on one of the two beds.
"You got to be kidding me. We're roomies?" you say with excitement in your voice.
Jason helps get your gear together and get situated in your new room.
